about

Fiddle tune that made it early across the Atlantic to colonial America for dancing. Its distinctive and enjoyable melody has continued to make it popular for many generations. In this version, the voice of cello banjo is juxtaposed with the high sweet dulcimerette. Ron Ewing crafted this tiny dulcimer from an antique oak wine barrel-- & it has the finest tone I've ever heard in a dulcimer this size--but I have since sold this instrument--so this may be its only recorded source.
